The day off and a lovely weather was the great combination to hit the road and get out of the town. Today’s stop is Jiufen 九份. This place is just 40 minutes from Taipei City by car and offers many things to see. You can use a public transportation too, which is maybe longer but for sure much cheaper because just for a parking place you have to pay 200NT for 3 hours. How? Simply because there is just a few places where to park, so locals make a great business from offering own garages.
This place has pretty long and interesting history because of a gold which has been founded here many years ago. During the time, the gold rush made from a small village an important town, and Japanese influence left many houses built in Japanese-style here. Nowadays is this place big touristic attraction and you can try all kinds off Taiwanese traditional food here.
This is Jiufen and I’m pretty sure this is not the last post from here because my plan is to take some pictures from the of the hill in the picture above. See you soon Jiufen! Stay tuned for more articles. #czechgeekontheway
